Cartier's La Dona collection is inspired by the Latin American movie star, Maria F?lix, who was popular in the 1940?s and 1950?s and was Mexico's answer to Marilyn Monroe. She was a longtime customer of Cartier, and in her honor, Cartier has created the La Dona with strikingly large links and a trapezoid-shaped case. With the La Dona, the eye is drawn to the two severe horizontal lines and lingers on the rounded sides. The glass is solid, dense, rounded, curvaceous, capturing the light. The Cartier La Dona comes in two sizes (small and large) in yellow gold, pink gold, and white gold on metal bracelet.
