Mens Girard Perregaux Vintage 1945 Foudroyante Watch, 18kt white gold case (37mm length, 37mm width, 15.34mm thickness), crocodile leather strap with 18kt white gold buckle, black dial with luminous silver hands and luminous hour markers, split-seconds (Foudroyante) feature with rattrapante function making it possible to measure split-second times or timing of simultaneous events of unequal duration, 40 jewel GP #E04C0 self-winding mechanical movement with chronograph functions, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, water-resistant to 30 meters.
In 1880, Constant Girard creates a chronograph pocket watch with the two additional complications 'rattrappante' et 'foudroyante'. The 'rattrapante' function makes possible the measurement of split-second times or timing simultaneous events or of unequal duration. The 'foudroyante' makes possible to measure fractions of seconds. The astute principle comprises a double barrel to power separately the Foudroyante.
More than a century later, Girard Perregaux is re-editing a 'Foudroyante-Rattrapante' chronograph, this time in a wristwatch thanks to improvements in the field of miniaturization.
