Small Cartier Tortue watch, tonneau-shaped 18kt white gold case set with one row of round brilliant diamonds, 18kt white gold octagonal crown decorated with a diamond, leather or fabric strap with 18kt white gold adjustable deployant buckle, silver-white dial with black Roman numerals and blue steeled sword-shaped hands, #430 Calibre mechanical movement with manual winding, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal on the case front and back, water resistant to 30 meters.
Created in 1912 by Louis Cartier, the original Tortue model serves as the basis for numerous watchmaking creations in the early 20th century. Particularly elegant, from 1915, the Tortue becomes one of Cartier?s most prized models. Available in different sizes and fitted with either a simple or complicated movement, the Cartier Tortue?s pure sensual form houses the caliber #9751MC mechanism which makes it possible to display the date aperture and retrograde second.
