Girard Perregaux BMW Oracle Racing USA 87 Watch, limited and numbered edition of 750 pieces, round titanium case (43mm diameter, 13.7mm thickness) with engraved caseback, black rubber strap with steel deployant clasp, black carbon fiber/silver dial with luminous hands and Arabic numerals, small seconds, chronograph with inverted push-pieces, date calendar, 52 jewel GP33C0 self-winding mechanical movement with 46 hour power reserve, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, water-resistant to 50 meters.
The name alone of the "R&D 01" watch symbolises all the importance attached by Girard-Perregaux to the Research & Development sector, as well as its attention to detail. The design of the model is unique for a chronograph. The push-pieces are actually on the left-hand side of the case rather than on the right. This choice was carefully investigated in conjunction with sportsmen in a variety of disciplines, such as motor racing. Hence the chronograph provides optimum ease of use in any competition. In order to commemorate the brand new race yacht "USA-87" by BMW ORACLE Racing, Girard-Perregaux introduces a special variant of the unique "R&D-01" ("Research&Development") chronograph. This "left hand" model is a decidedly sportive and innovative watch, which bears functional elements of the chronograph on the left case side. This is a limited and numbered edition of 750 pieces, which includes two dial variants. The total production will be 750 pieces for the silver and black ring R&D01 USA87 (not 750 each).
