The moon-phase display of this exceptional watch emulates the orbit of the earth's companion in a remarkably realistic way. Its movement combines all the horological features that aficionados and connoisseurs of superb timekeeping associate with the great "A. Lange & S?hne" brand. Lange presented a new highlight in precision watchmaking with this chef-d'oeuvre and its technically sophisticated refinements. Lange's moon, for instance, imitates cosmic reality very faithfully in two respects: First, it moves continuously rather than in leaps and bounds once or twice a day as in conventional watches, and second, the mechanism is so accurate that the accrued error relative to the synodic lunar orbit adds up to merely one day in 122.6 years of non-stop operation. One of the characteristic facets of the Lange 1 series is the design of the solid-silver dial with its asymmetric displays. The useful patented outsize date improves legibility about three-fold in comparison with ordinary watches. The up and down power reserve display provides ongoing information on the state of wind of the twin mainspring barrels - even at night, because the power-reserve hand is coated with a luminous compound, just like the hour and minute hands. The realm of the moon-phase display with its gold moon disc is located beneath the subsidiary seconds dial. The Lange 1 Moonphase is available in 18-carat gold or platinum. The watch comes with a hand-stitched crocodile strap and an engraved precious-metal buckle. The solid-gold winding crown and all push-pieces are tested for water resistance at a pressure of 3 atmospheres. The sapphire-crystal caseback reveals the meticulously finished Lange L901.5 movement.
