Cartier La Dona Watches
"Cartier's La Dona collection is inspired by the Latin American movie star, Maria Félix, who was popular in the 1940’s and 1950’s and was Mexico's answer to Marilyn Monroe. She was a longtime customer of Cartier, and in her honor, Cartier has created the La Dona with strikingly large links, a trapezoid-shaped case, and sort of reptilian-shaped links. With the La Dona, the eye is drawn to the two severe horizontal lines and lingers on the rounded sides. The glass is solid, dense, rounded, curvaceous, capturing the light. The Cartier La Dona comes in two sizes (small and large) in yellow gold, rose gold, and white gold on metal bracelet. The La Dona is equipped with a quartz movement and is water resistant up to a depth of 30 meters.”
